A case of autumn laying near Poitiers with pre-seeded Viresco® Pratens biofabric

In this test field in France near Poitiers, various types of mixtures were evaluated as well as the behaviour associated with our Viresco® Pratens in the different stages of germination, establishment and growth.

Irrigation was not frequent, but inspections were carried out daily to assess both floristic and agronomic aspects in general. The germinative efficacy of the pre-seeded biofabric, the settling time of the plants and ground cover, the health of the lawn, the control of the Viresco® Pratens biotextile against weeds and wild plants, the resistance to climatic adversities and whether subsequent fertilisation would be needed or not were also considered.

Some test images are presented below, in which a very select meadow in the presence of a lush surrounding nature is well depicted.

What we have been able to verify is that the Viresco® Pratens pre-seeded felt has no function in preventing the development of turfgrasses and rustic lawns for greening or environmental restoration, but instead has been seen to protect the plants, especially in the initial phase when they are most vulnerable to weeds or soil-borne pathogens.
