Virmat is a geomat with erosion control properties, ideal for escarpment consolidation and slope stabilization.
Thanks to its composition, in addition to the erosion control and the slope protection function, it also allows a fast and uniform grass covering.
The erosion control seeded mat consists of a high-strength synthetic three-dimensional structure assembled to Viresco Sator, our biotextile pre-seeded with herbaceous seeds and first quality granulated fertilizers.
Using the Virens pre-seeded erosion control mats and geomeshes, you can achieve excellent results on steep and challenging soils. These solutions guarantee an effective protection against soil erosion, ensuring a long-term stabilization of the slopes on which they are installed, thanks to the erosion control structure and the rapid regrassing.
Virmat has been designed so to guarantee a high erosion control standard and to firmly keep a layer of vegetable soil on the upper part. This way humidity and thermal protection are constantly supplied to the seeds which are enclosed in the underlying biotextile.
The conformation of this erosion control seeded mat provides protection to the seeds it contains, even on steeply inclined terrains, ensuring an effective and fast grass covering on all soil escarpments.
Virmat, our pre-seeded erosion control seeded mat, features a three-dimensional polypropylene structure, capable of firmly keep the soil on the upper part, with a high void ratio. On the lower part, on the other hand, is located the Viresco pre-seeded biotextile: a fully biodegradable product, ideal for vegetal regrassing thanks to high quality seeds and fertilizer evenly distributed in its weft and firmly kept inside under any environmental and weather conditions.
This composition makes this product highly appreciated in geotechnics and environmental engineering for an enhanced erosion control, and the protection from water and wind of loose or friable soils, subject to superficial detachment events.

Our pre-seeded geomats can be easily laid down just unrolling the rolls, making sure that they keep in touch with the soil and anchoring it with pegs or U-shaped staples.
