Erosion Control in Hydraulic Works with reinforced pre-seeded Biomat Viresco Coco

Protection and greening on embankments: Canale Alicorno, Padova

Alicorno Canal, at the Botanical Garden of Padua, the first university botanical garden in the world and the only one still in its original 16th-century location, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

November 2024- For the control of erosion and the greening of a channel of particular delicacy and value, both technical and ecological aspects were considered.

Viresco Coco successfully met both needs. A totally eco-compatible product, made of only plant-based materials, capable of protecting and greening the bank despite an unfavorable installation period, November 15th, in a location with low light and an extended period of cold and lack of rain. No irrigation was provided after installation.

The results can be considered more than satisfactory, with perfect control of soil loss and a successful greening process despite the climatic and environmental conditions.
