A pre-sowed erosion control geocomposite material to carrying out erosion control and grass covering works on very steep slopes or soils exposed to erosion events and surface instability.

PRE-SOWED GEOCOMPOSITE MATERIAL with terrain stabilization and erosion control function, for protection from surface erosion and for escarpment sowing and regrassing. The geomat consists of a CE and EPD certified double twist wire mesh, with an 8×10 cm mesh and a 2.70 mm diameter steel wire, coated in VIRESCO R.E.C.S. (Reinforced Erosion Control System) zinc-aluminium eutectic alloy, or of a 6×8 cm wire mesh, coated in zinc-aluminium eutectic alloy, and the RECSVIRESCO IDRO ecological Polimac polymer. Those meshes are coupled during the production phase to a biotextile made of 100% biodegradable cellulosic fibres of natural green colour, pre-sowed with high quality herbaceous seeds suitable for soil and climate conditions, including granulated fertilizers for new settlements and soil conditioners, without using glues, nets, synthetic fibres or films.

The geomat is fixed using 30x7x30 cm or 40x7x40 cm, 6 mm diam., U-shaped iron staples, or 4 mm diam. TL-P ‘curly’ shaped galvanized steel pins, able to provide a ‘pull-out’ resistance of more than 39 kg on vegetable soils.

RECSVIRESCO is a pre-sowed erosion control geocomposite material based on a double twist wire mesh and on the VIRESCO Sator pre-sowed biotextile.

RECSVIRESCO has been studied to carrying out erosion control and grass covering interventions on very steep surfaces or soils exposed to erosion events and surface instability.

The double twist wire mesh performs the function of providing a force able to resist to the strain tensions that develop in the cortical area of the soil mass.

However, the wire mesh alone does not offer the necessary protection against the erosion of the medium-fine fraction of the soil and for this reason the association with a pre-sowed biotextile with a high regrassing capacity is very useful. The VIRESCO Sator pre-sowed biotextile is well anchored to the ground thanks to the wire mesh itself.

The final result is the innovative RECSVIRESCO.

 

VIRESCO Sator biotextile is pre-sowed with high-quality rustic slope seeds, suitable for all soil and climate conditions, and slow-release starter granulated fertilizers for new settlements.

The double twist wire reinforcement mesh features an 8×10 cm hexagonal mesh and a 2.7 mm steel wire. A version coated with the innovative Polimac polymer, with 6×8 cm hexagonal mesh and a 2.2-3.2 mm steel wire it is also available.

The geocomposite material is used with optional elements as U-shaped staples or curled steel pins.

Such material should be used on soil escarpments for protection from surface erosion and slope regrassing. At the same time it has a stabilizing action on the escarpment, thanks to the presence of the double twist wire mesh, and a regrassing action as well.

 

With traditional non-pre-sowed reinforcement geomeshes it is necessary to scatter the seeds under the mesh before the installation or above it after the installation, with the risk of a widespread wash-out.

With RECSVIRESCO, the slope protection and sowing take place in a single operational phase, with a greater effectiveness and lower costs.

 

Compared to the products made of wire mesh + synthetic geomat, RECSVIRESCO has a greater eco-compatibility, being free of plastic materials.

Even where the polymeric coating of the wire is present, this is made with bionaphtha-based polymer or with a certified eco-compatible polymer.

 

All our seed mixtures are always designed according to the customer’s needs, environmental conditions, climate period, and maintenance possibilities.

All the essences are selected high-quality varieties with low growth habit to limit the required cuts.

RECSVIRESCO has to be applied on slopes with an even surface and a soil suitable for vegetation. It has to be fixed with appropriate and frequent anchoring means.
