The recovery of a quarry using Viresco® Sator

Grassing of a stone quarry face

The grassing of a stone quarry face required bank reprofiling and backfilling with suitable topsoil.

In particular, mixes were requested with varieties of evergreen herbaceous species, both grasses and legumes, to protect biodiversity and be consistent with the insertion ecosystem.

In addition, low-maintenance hardy specieswere required to limit any subsequent cultivation.

Virens applications

Viresco® Sator met all these needs with a careful choice of species thanks to the specialised agronomists on staff.

Species of non-continental origin were then avoided, whereas species of European origin suitable for a temperate-Mediterranean climate were used.

The intervention took place in the middle of the summer, and in fact the customer saw fit to assist with laying and sowing using jet irrigation. In spite of the season, Viresco® Sator has flourished.

The part that is visible at the bottom, on the other hand, sown by hand, denotes growth and uniformity that are not comparable; the irrigation water itself probably contributed to the partial leaching of the seeds.

Viresco® Sator protects soil and seeds at the same time, and promotes their rooting and growth.
